Screenshot of RenderQ
I created RenderQ for easy batchrendering using Softimage|XSI 2.0 and
above, and thanks to all who have shown interest and support in this application
its grown to become quite useful to a lot of users. RenderQ is designed to be
used on a single workstation, it has support for passes, antialiasing, resolution
etc. There's also a number of features that are not a part of Softimage|XSI
like sequence segmenting which is one step closer to a safer renderexperience!
Important update: The pass query response was changed in XSI 4 as
well, disabling the pass feature of RenderQ. The .1 update fixes
the problem. A new search string was added, RQ is still backwards
compatible though, if you're using v4 you must check the v4 button,
if you're using 3.x leave it unchecked.
4.4.2 adress yet another bug related to this, pass quering should
now work as expected.
Key Features of RenderQ 4.4.2 :
- Let you add .scn files to a batchlist and toggle wheter to render them or
not
- Support for passes
- Let you specify:
- Specific Passes from a list or "All"
- Output Fileformat
- Picturestandard (NTSC/PAL etc)
- Fields (even/odd)
- Verbose mode
- Render Z channel (.zpic)
- Skip existing files
- Output resolution
- Antialias sampling
- Animation Sequence (start-end-step)
- Output filename
- Generates .BAT files
- Instant render with sound upon completion
- Loop batch
- Copy-paste rendersettings between any number of simultaneously selected
items in the queue
- Easy to apply predefined default settings to one, many or all items in the
queue
- Load up XSI with the selected scene in the list for last-minute changes
with a single click
- Safe render (segmentation), will divide your sequence into any number of
smaller parts
- Use special environment variable instead of a direct path to XSI, useful
in network environments
- Support for the -guilic switch present only in XSI 2.0.1
- Support for XSI Essentials
- Logging of all events including time
- Many keyboard shortcuts
- Support for XSI v4
- The RenderQ Client:
- Separate application that will launch the batch every n'th second unless
allready rendering
- Activate/deactivate switch
- Kill XSIBatch button to immediately terminate the render
- Delete 0k and 1k files, which are created when a render crashes are
are aborted, they will
prevent that frame to be rendered when you're using "Skip existing
frames" unless removed
- Option to rename the files instead of deleting to be extra safe
- Has a CPU activitymeter
- Will kill XSIBatch if it hangs, if CPU activity drops below 10% for
too long the render will be terminated, 0k/1k file
will be removed, and the render will start again
- Will detect multiple CPU's
- Logging of all events with including time

This is a very small application that only has one purpose, and that is to convert bulks of .HDR files
to XSI-friendly .MAP files, just browse to the directory containing your .HDR files and hit the convert button and
that's it!
I found a small but devastating bug, .HDR files in directories with spaces could not be converted! It's sorted
in 1.01, and the program will not name files name.hdr.map anymore, but just name.map.
