It's not even clear from the way IE crashes that the problem is even vaguely related NIS - you have to dig into crash reports to find the faulting module. It works for me. Each one can occur in one of many hundreds of locations in the system. Use this only as a last resort as you will lose plugins, cookies, passwords, etc.
