I noticed the 41W5204 arrived with a pink peel off pad over the part of the fan which sites on top of the graphics chip. It really worked in a crisis situation. So if you are here because you just upgraded to Windows 10 and installed all the updates, and are suddenly getting fan error, just reset the BIOS to defaults as above. Maybe cleaning the cooling module will help. or will I just unknowingly cause irreparable damage to the video card? It really worked!
