I researched and found another site last night (www.allservice.ro) that offers software to fix this CRC1 Error, but this requires soldering the eeprom chip underneath the RAM cards, providing a dump I realise that we're not allowed to discuss some possible solutions to this problem but others have successfully reflashed their bios only to discover that the problem recurs. How can you tell if your ThinkPad is a good candidate for a CRC repair? Whether or not this solves the problem, the cost is minimal and it will possibly save problems in future.
