According to manual I should check the CMOS backup battery and I found out that CMOS backup battery was bad, when I measured the voltage it showed 0 V. And what do you know, the fan started blowing and the thing booted up??? It's still Ubuntu so it should work well if you're familiar with Debian-like distributions, but is more lightweight than the GNOME- or KDE-based derivatives. Maybe once I get the error fixed and get the computer up & running, I will start a new thread about the possibility to upgrade the system board.
