I find it higly unlikely that both drives are defective and that 8 cd's fail. However, I did get several other text messages, including "checking for unattended-upgrades" after the installation completed but before the I/O Error messages filled the screen. Burn method: Disc at Once P+Q (DAO16) The auto method produces a CD that causes kernel errors (F12/LiteOn iHAS424), and "readom -c2scan" reports errors at the end of the image.
