The kernel is 32bit, the system 64bit but other than the DVD drive everything else is working perfectly. Selecting "Boot from CD" as well as "Verify, Boot from CD" will give a black screen for a few seconds, then the CD drive audibly slows down and it begins displaying: When I used wodim on the same computer and drive, I was able to burn a usable disk. Moved the disk to the new machine and it worked perfectly.
